Mercedes Maroto-Valer is director of the Centre for Innovation in Carbon Capture and Storage at the University of Nottingham, looking at ways to deal with carbon dioxide emissions at places like power stations.

Many of the solutions involve piping away the carbon dioxide for storage under the sea.
