Lisa Yon is one of the scientists I'm following for Test Tube. She's working between the University of Nottingham's new vet school and Twycross Zoo, specialising in exotic animals.

She's previously done research at an elephant camp in Thailand, where she and her husband met and adopted a stray dog called Gabby (above). Gabby's been on quite an adventure since, travelling with the family to northern Thailand then back to Lisa's native Canada. And now, after a long quarantine stint, she's here in Nottingham.

Gabby may not be directly related to Lisa's science, but when you're making a story about the life of scientists, I think these fun stories behind the scenes really add something to what I'm doing.
